| The municipality was required to purchase new apparatus due to new safety and equipment standards. The old firehouse could not accommodate the new equipment. To maintain the building's character and allow for twenty more years of life, the existing fire house floors were removed and lowered. The doors were widened by providing new structures above. The entire building was supported from below while walls and floors were removed, footings lowered and new structure installed. |  |
